Peter began his career as an Economist/Statistician with the Central Bureau of Statistics, a department of the Ministry of Planning and National Development where he was employed for eight years. In 1994, he joined Dyer & Blair Limited as Head of Research. He was a member of the investment management team that offered advisory services to pension and provident funds, insurance companies, and other institutional investors, with a focus on portfolio securities selection and diversification.
In 1997, Peter moved to African Banking Corporation to take charge of the Research and Development Department, a post he held until being recruited to join Sanlam Investments East Africa (formerly AIG Investments East Africa). His role was Vice-President and Senior Portfolio Manager with direct portfolio management responsibility for assets under management of around Ksh. 80 billion, making asset allocation recommendations at both strategic and tactical levels, and aligning client portfolios to reflect changing expectations.
Peter is currently an Executive Director, at Moran Capital Management where he is in charge of Institutional Clients Development with a focus on Executive training and investment portfolio management.
Peter is a CFA® charter holder and a Certified Investment & Financial Analyst. He holds a Masters Degree in Economics, BPhil Economics, and BSc Mathematics all from the University of Nairobi. He is a member of the CFA Institute (USA), an internationally recognized institution that leads the investment industry by setting the highest standards of ethics and professional excellence and vigorously advocating fair and transparent capital markets.
